2002 Dodge Ram 1500 - Error Code

Q: the last interference engine used by mopar was the infamous 2.6 4 cylinder wrote i have heard that the valves will hit the piston when a belt breaks but when i had my 3.0 it have notches in the pistons for valve clearance so i guess i dont understand unless my pistons were not what was standard in these engines. the 3.0 is not an interference engine. no bent valves. .
