2001 dodge ram 2500 dashboard replacement.

Q: i am replacing the top piece of the dashboard on my truck. for some reason it has cracked. does anyone have instructions for doing this. from what i have done so far it looks as if i need to remove the whole dashboard to get at the screws in back that attach the heating ducts to the dashboard. any help would be apprieciated. .

i am replacing the top piece of the dashboard on my truck. for some reason it has cracked. does anyone have instructions for doing this. from what i have done so far it looks as if i need to remove the whole dashboard to get at the screws in back that attach the heating ducts to the dashboard. any help would be apprieciated. have you taken off the outer black ring on the dashboard if you did you started to pull back on the right hand bottom corner underneath the cubby hole heated seat switches if leather. you had the steering column tilted down and the shifter placed in first gear to pull off the left side. when that black ring is pulled off you will see the screws and other bolts to the rest of your dashboard near the radio and other heater ducts of the dashboard. .
