2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Transmission knock at Idle

Q: my 2001 dodge ram 1500 v6 seems to have a knock when at low rpm idle. if i pull the gear shit in like i am going to change gears it stops. it only does it whent he engine has slow down enought to be in a low idle. if i put it in gear it stops also. if i put my hand on the shifting mechanisms under the truck i can feel the vibrations. i was wanting to trade it in but i am afraid it will do this when they appraise it and i will lose a lot of value. it shifts fine no slipping or anything. does anyone have any ideas thanks dv .

my 2001 dodge ram 1500 v6 seems to have a knock when at low rpm idle. if i pull the gear shit in like i am going to change gears it stops. if it stops when in gear it may well be piston slap broken piston skirt. the engine is getting loaded against the convertor when in gear vibration in a v6 is not unusual due to the odd firing order no matter what they are not going to be as smooth as a v8 with 90 degrees even firing i wonder if hes actually hearing the purge soilenoid...sounds like a rod knocking to the untrained ear.. politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .
