Q: many are having brake problems with 20. what good are low profile tires off road iam needing tires on a 2002 dodge ram 4x4 and am trying to decide if i should bite the bullet and jump to the 20 in rims and tires. was wondering if anybody has made the change and if so how it affected performance. i assume the bigger rim will hurt it some with speed as well as mpg any thoughts thanks in advance tom --- outgoing mail is certified virus free. checked by avg anti-virus system http//www.grisoft.com. version 6.0.596 / virus database 379 - release date 2/26/2004 .

173000 miles on my 97 dakota and the automatic transmission is still working fine. ken ive heard that if you have a dodge youre lucky to go past 80000 miles and still have a working transmission. in many cases they go bad early as it sounds like in your case. i had an old 1994 dodge ram & it had transmission problems - and im concerned my 2001 will have the same issues eventually. = ive met some real scum bags at car dealers - who assume that the customer is an idiot and their isnt a problem when there is a problem. i tell you this much...i will never buy a dodge again just because of the junk that ive had to go through with my dealer + the fact that i think theyre rather unreliable vehicles. i will keep mine until its paid off...then its gooooooooooooooooone. hopefully it wont fall apart before then! lol. i have a brand new dodge durango. almost right away i noticed that when i started it up after it was sitting for a while overnight or at the office that it would not go into 2nd gear right away. after going about 1/10 - 2/10 of a mile it would then shift into the correct gear. i called the dealer and told him about the problem and he said that this was normal. i have a hard time believing this is considered normal operation. has anybody else had this problem has anybody else brought it up to a dealer i would like to know .

my 63 one ton axle bearing nut is 8 sided as opposed to hex. it is 2 3/4 sae. does anyone know where i can purchase a tool to remove and install this nut. tia. try a real auto parts store not one of the national chains but a locally owned store. also if you have a farm/tractor supply store in your area many have tools like this for heavy equipment. greg tractor supply will have it. -- some tool rental places have them. al .

my odometer just rolled 2500 kms hit a pothole and my radio quit. not so bad though now i can listen to the hemi. kevin my 2003s radio died while we were on a camping trip just after i got the truck maybe 4000 miles. dodge was pretty good about it and replaced the radio at a dealership far from where i bought the truck. the way it went it scared the crap out of me though. the led display dimmed and then went out. no other lights went. i pulled the radio fuse out and it looked good so i put it back in. when i got in the truck and turned the key wisps of smoke could be seen escaping the dash. i turned the key off and the smoke didnt stop. i jumped out and yanked the fuse as fast as i could. while i was waiting for the new radio about three days--there was a hole in my dash while we were camping i checked out the wiring and saw nothing to be worried about. the dealership of course said that they didnt see anything wrong with the wiring either. the new radio works fine and i havent had a problem with it. i have a feeling that the problem was vibration caused even though automotive vibration specs are among the worst in the electronics industry. i have to drive up i-110 from the la harbor every day and the semis that drive that interstate have just beat the living crap out of the road. cal-trans the california department of transportation has shaved a lane or two flat in the past and those lanes are smooth but the whole road needs to be shaved. my truck and i shake pretty bad every day. makes you wish for a traffic jam sometimes. .
