8 cyl 4.7 litre standard shift is there any known issues with the brakes you know of smoke from front left fender well. smelt like asbestos burning. truck was pulling hard to the left. parked let it cool down got back in and drove to mechanic. drove like nothing ever happened. had him pull the wheel and said nothing was wrong. is it possible the brakes are hanging up i never experienced this before. this is like the 3rd time something funky is going on with the brakes and it doesnt even have 30000 miles. chinese manufactured parts if so i will buy all aftermarket brake parts for the truck. i have heard the 01 dakota can have problems with the calipers warping - cant say as to whether or not that is true. i have an 01 3.9l automtatic w/42k miles. brakes work fine but im taking it in next week to have them checked anyway. .
