Q: bob wrote ive had the truck going on 5 yrs. never had great heat but its getting worse. now it practically has no heat. what little there is comes when it is idling. start down the road and its cold air. symptoms no heat very very little anyway when moving. some when idling. what ive done in the last 6 months + new radiator + new water pump + new thermostat + new heater core addl info both heater hoses are hot once the truck is warmed up. a bit warmer air when you turn it to recirculate. im wondering if its a vacumm leak somewhere. is the heater control/blend door vacuum operated truck has 290000 miles. never been to a dealer since ive owned it but im throwing in the towel. have an appt next tuesday but if yall could help me before then id appreciate it! thanks! most likely the door controls. they are vacume operated but theres a mechanicla linkage to actually move the doors. if the core was replaced im surpised nobody inspected the box to make sure everything was working correctly. -- ..bob on order 2006 fxdi red. 1997 hd fxdwg - turbocharged stolen 11/26/05 in denver 1hd1gel10vy3200010 co license j5822z 2001 dodge dakota qc 5.9/4x4/3.92 1966 mustang coupe - daily driver 1965 ffr cobra - 427w efi damn fast. .

the engine is a 318 90k original depends onwhat you call major ive replaced the water pump starter fuel pump distributor carbuerator alternator battery brakes plugs and plugwires but that is all accessory no fiddling with the drivetrain .

tbone wrote yep i said it was and is a huge problem just not effecting a huge number of people yet. how would you know if its a huge problem based on what and you have no proof that there isnt. there are two cases so far on the nhtsa site and while 1 doesnt have a date the other is at the end of october which was when mine failed. two cases is a major huge problem lol. too funny. lol not every problem makes itself known right away despite your spin. its not known now not by you or anyone else. .
