Q: developed a miss. service engine light comes on. i just purchased this used turck with 107000 miles on it. after driving it a day or so i filled the gas tank with regular gas. a couple days later the service engine light came on. checked everything under the hood and guages ok. decided maybe gas had water or wasnt a good batch and added injector cleaner additive. disconnected the baterry for a few minutes to reset computer.. drove for three days and the service engine light came on again. the engine also had a noticeable miss. disconnected battery again to reset computer. changed spark plugs. miss is not as noticeable at idle and in gear but you can feel it every once in awhile. opinions suggestions .

check your gas cap. if it doesnt seal that will cause the light to come on. if the cap is fine the next thing to check is the rubber hoses coming off the tank. on my 2001 qc 1500 5.9l a small hose was ruptured. it had something to do with venting the tank to maintain proper pressure so i was told. go to autozone and have them read the code for you. mine read emissions leak. jerry brandt wrote developed a miss. service engine light comes on. i just purchased this used turck with 107000 miles on it. after driving it a day or so i filled the gas tank with regular gas. a couple days later the service engine light came on. checked everything under the hood and guages ok. decided maybe gas had water or wasnt a good batch and added injector cleaner additive. disconnected the baterry for a few minutes to reset computer.. drove for three days and the service engine light came on again. the engine also had a noticeable miss. disconnected battery again to reset computer. changed spark plugs. miss is not as noticeable at idle and in gear but you can feel it every once in awhile. opinions suggestions .
