i have had the performance friction hd pads on my 99 2500 but i had a caliper lock up and wore the right side out. there was no availability on them when i replaced the calipers so i went with napa ceramix. the brakes have never been better on that truck! i cant say anything bad about the performance frictions because they wore out due to a different problem and i didnt have them on long enough to have a bad experience with them. they had little dust but again i only got 8k out of them due to a caliper problem. auto zone warrantied them and gave me my money back because they could supply replacements. ; the ceramix have little dust and great stopping power. they do not have the lifetime warranty on them though. if the performance frictions are available when i wear out these ceramix i will try them again. chris hey guys i need some advice on what front brakes are the best out there for my truck need some new ones finally i know that the oem are a an option but just want some feed back on what is working best for my fellow cummins drivers. i have a 2000 2500 slt 4x4 cummins shortbed i tow an 8500lb trailer over the mountains east of san diego so stopping power going down hill is a consideration. thanks steve spweiler767@aol.com .

brakes are basically one of those deals you get what you pay for. some people buy oe some buy raybestos i bought napas best the last time i did mine. ive used carquests best before they all work . i cant see buying the cheapest pads/shoes and trying to save $20 or so on brakes make sure youve got good brakes on that trailer i know that the oem are a an option but just want some feed back on what is working best for my fellow cummins drivers. i have a 2000 2500 slt 4x4 cummins shortbed i tow an 8500lb trailer over the ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .

thanks for the info i have good brakes on the trailer but just want the best for the truck as well...anyone anyone i also use napa best. im also of the belief that the rears have to be adjusted by hand every 3k-5k. big improvement after youve done the adjustment.the self adjuster dont get the job done imo. roy .
