Q: nosey wrote is there some type of pressure valve or vent that is blocked jon the pump will not operate if the nozzle is not held firmly against the filler neck. it will if you pull the rubber shield back exposing a small hole in the side of the nozzle. the hole is about 3-4 inches from the tip. i do this when filling gas cans so i can see what im doing and no gas doesnt squirt out the small hole. fortunately ive not run into these type nozzles on diesel pumps so i dont have to deal with them. jerry .

plugged/broken catalytic converter is a pretty common problem. when the broken material gets got in the cat it swells up blocking exhaust output. i have a 1995 dodge ram 1500 truck. when its not hot i can start and drive it ok but after a while it loses power. it used to go weeks between power loss then days now i can drive it 10 minutes and it starts to lose power. at first i thought it was dirty fuel injectors. i put injector cleaner through it and it seemed to help. but im starting to think its something else. any suggestions i am considering new plugs wires and coil and new fuel filter. maybe it is the fuel injectors. id appreciate any tips thanks mike .

i guess i didnt understand what you said. why do you put it in neutral to start the car because the 47rh/re transmissions didnt circulate fluid in park and if the vehicle has sat for a length of time the converter wont be full of fluid causing the first few seconds of driving to be very sluggish-like. running the transmission in neutral fills the converter up. oh and never refer to a truck as a car .
