2 Dodge Dealers Stumped Is there anyone on this newsgroup who has had a similar problem like this??

From : sillysam

Q: quote the dealership gave up and told me not to come back i cant believe they told you not to come back. that is unacceptable business practice in any profession unless you got an attitude with them and started yelling or something. they should have just replaced the trans and reprogrammed the ecm. several things dont add up here. is this a warranty issue i have a dodge ram 1500. almost a year ago the service engine light came on. took it the local dodge dealer which said it was a transmission problem. now even though the service engine came on and since i bought it the truck ran excellent. it shifted correctly no bumps grinds bangs nothing. the dealer said it was a pump and a torque convertor. they replaced them. the service engine light did not come on when i went to get the truck. it started and seemed to run ok for a little while and then when i went to speed up from 40mph there was a shudder in the transmission. then when i stopped at a stoplight and then went about a block and slowed to stop again there was a clunk like the transmisson was either trying to shift up or down. several weeks later with the truck in and out of the dealership shop for sometimes a couple of days and other times for more than a week they moved the shudder up to 55 mph. and then the transmissions started doing other things. the dealership gave up and told me not to come back. like when you speed up from a stop light it will shift from 1st to 2nd at about 10mph. a steady speed up and the turck will not shift into 3rd until you let up on the gas. less than 40mph it will down shift. and it will not shift into 4th until it gets to 52 mph. once the speed drops down to 50 mph it will downshift even if you are coasting downa hill. below 40mph it will downshift again. i put up with it from august last year until a couple of months ago. another dodge dealer contacted me about trading trucks and when i told him about the problems i am having with this one. he said he could fix it. he had it 6 weeks and 3 days. when i got the truck back he fixed the clunk and he fixed the shudder but it will not shift right. he gave up. is there anyone on this group who has had a similar problem like this the last dealer said they rebuilt the transmission from scratch and it still wont shift right. .

tbone wrote gas prices will go back up soon enough. they are being lowered for now in order to slow the rush to higher mileage vehicles. please explain exactly how the gas companies control the price in this manner. lol have you not been watching the msnbc or even the current price of oil relative to the current price of gasoline or diesel fuel it is fairly obvious what is happening despite your typical conservative hide your head in the sand method of looking at things. just look at the facts oil prices not moving all that much and never in a stable manor in either direction and yet gas prices have dropped when they should be seasonally going up and diesel prices not moving much at all and in some cases rising when they should be seasonally falling. then you can add the huge losses from gm and ford due to their typical head up the ass development of only the vehicles most heavily in demand at the time suvs and ignoring high mileage vehicles despite the instability of the price of fuel or the fact that toyota and honda were doing it at a loss. the sad thing is that now toyota and honda are now raking in the bucks because of it and at gm and fords expense. nice liberal story but how about some facts to back up your claim that gas companies artificially control prices to slow the rush to higher mileage vehicles. there is nothing liberal about it unless you are once again confusing liberalism with obvious facts. companies control prices whenever they can to suite their needs. this is the nature of business. reduced demand reduces prices and profits and smaller cars simply need less and the reduction in demand then becomes of a more permanent nature. then you can add in the fact that if gm shuts down this country is fucked and that forces the powers that be to put serious non-public pressure on the oil companies to do something to stop that from happening. why is it when it is suggested that we buy smaller cars that people in here say that if we do that the oil companies will cut production and then raise the price. is this not price control as well too funny do oil future investors know about this the oil futures investors could give a rats ass about that. there only concern is the price of oil and its move in price relative to their current position not the cost of the refined products made from it. now we investors in the oil companies may be concerned but since the oil companies seem to be reducing the price of gas without much of a loss of profit serve us quite well by keeping demand up. since most diesel is purchased commercially anyway keeping the price high has little effect on demand. too funny. yes miles you are. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

thanks nosey that helps. found the red /or. wire in a different plug but same location as the light blue wire. btw. why when i reply to group is my post missing from my computor but showing up on everyone elses thx. oz oz wrote thanks for the info tom. so are you saying the bl/or is not the charging lead seeing as it is a heavier gauge wire i thought that was what it would be for. i think it would have been easier if the truck had no package installed at all. for example i traced the light blue elec. brake wire and it ended in the drivers side front wheel well. thanks for the help oz tom lawrence yours might be wired like the 97. read the messages on this page http//www.dodgeram.org/tech/mods/electric/trailerwire.htm .
