1997 V-6 Radiator Flush

Q: just love to take my dodge van on cross-country trips. my 2nd new dodge 1st was an 1988 318 and loved it. on the way back i noticed the temp gauge creeping up a bit so i backed out of the 80 mph lane and stayed in the 65-70 lane. when i got home i flushed the radiator and ran some zerex cleaner through it. it was all rusty. never since my 74 plymouth have i seen so much rust sludge. i dont usually flush the radiator on any of my vehicles. is this normal for a 1997 v-6 to have so much rust should i use a better cleaning product i guess i will flush clean and fill on 3 year interval from now on. .
