1997 Dodge Ram 1500 popping in front end

Q: truck just started popping quite loud in front end when turning. turn left and pops in right turn right and pops in left. came on suddenly. had in a shop and they checked all bushings bearings steering arms etc. and couldnt figure it out. was due for shocks so i replaced those and noise is still there. no noise going straight. at least the consenus is coming from the front end. anyone have any suggestions. truck has approx. 150000 miles on it. .

dont know if this helps but my 1996 had a similar sound only when turning and it ended up being the drivers side u joint although the sound did seem to only come from that side. the dealership replaced both sides warranty item because they said the other was getting bad as well. steve .

if its a 2 wheel drive and only happens when turning and the suspension is moving...like into a parking lot or whatnot...slap a little grease on the turn stops..... works every time.. truck just started popping quite loud in front end when turning. turn left and pops in right turn right and pops in left. came on suddenly. had in a shop and they checked all bushings bearings steering arms etc. and couldnt figure it out. was due for shocks so i replaced those and noise is still there. no noise going straight. at least the consenus is coming from the front end. anyone have any suggestions. truck has approx. 150000 miles on it. .
