1997 1500 4x4 stalling.

From : gonad

Q: any ideas are appreciated. the dealer socked me for a $380 tune-up which did not solve the problem and now they cannot figure out what is causing it. when i first start the truck after it sits overnight instead of the rpms rising and then falling to idle it will start then immediately drop then edge up to normal idle. then the real problem is when i put it in drive and go for an 1/8 mile and let off the gas it stalls in the intersection of course. i put it in neutral start it and if i dont rev it it will stall again immediately. i have to rev it and then drop it into drive which causes it to bang into gear if i want to continue moving. it only lasts for about 2-3 miles and then its fine for the rest of the day even if its parked for 7-8 hours. it only does it first thing in the morning and not every morning. it may be fine for several days then do it for several days etc. ive already tried drygas no help. ive left it overnight at the dealer twice now and of course it wont do it for them. they have checked the computer and all the sensors with no problems showing up. its really ticking me off. anyone had a similar problem or any ideas .

ha the same type of problem with a ford. ended up being the coolant sensor that was screwed. did the same as you but it was due. changed wires plugs filters cdap and rotor etc. of course ran fine for a few days then started stalling all over again from start-up until engine was warm. faulty coolant sensor for $20.00 was all it needed. any ideas are appreciated. the dealer socked me for a $380 tune-up which did not solve the problem and now they cannot figure out what is causing it. when i first start the truck after it sits overnight instead of the rpms rising and then falling to idle it will start then immediately drop then edge up to normal idle. then the real problem is when i put it in drive and go for an 1/8 mile and let off the gas it stalls in the intersection of course. i put it in neutral start it and if i dont rev it it will stall again immediately. i have to rev it and then drop it into drive which causes it to bang into gear if i want to continue moving. it only lasts for about 2-3 miles and then its fine for the rest of the day even if its parked for 7-8 hours. it only does it first thing in the morning and not every morning. it may be fine for several days then do it for several days etc. ive already tried drygas no help. ive left it overnight at the dealer twice now and of course it wont do it for them. they have checked the computer and all the sensors with no problems showing up. its really ticking me off. anyone had a similar problem or any ideas .
