1996 Ram Diesel "GEN" Warning light

Q: my son has a 1998 dodge ram 2500 quadcab pickup. he does a lot of off road driving and the front end takes a lot of abuse. the bushing on the drag link and tie rod are shot. i thought that the bushings could be popped out and replaced but upon looking futher i am not quite sure. is there an after market remedy for bad bushings on the drag link and tie rod or do the rods themselves have to be replaced regards bill .
