most of the time when the lite came on it was due to the jumper wire that connectss the rear sensor to the harness it would cause high resistance and set the code my abs light is coming on. what could be causing this it only comes on once in a while and only 2 or 3 times then dosest do it anymore. would this indicate rear brakes need changing 1997 1500 ram. abs brakes in rear only. thanks tim .

montanajeeper wrote winter is taking a firm grip here in montana and no matter how long we idle the 04 cummins it wont warm the cab until after about 10 miles of interstate driving. trouble is its only 5 miles to work. the wifey is miserable with this and she wants me to trade it on a gas powered version so that she can get some heat. were buying her a new jeep in february and i want to hold her off on selling the 04 until then at which time ill take it over. i cant have her being cold going to and from work. i can plug it in 4 hours prior to cranking or all night long and it still wont warm up. i can plug it in all night long and then idle it 30 minutes before leaving and it still wont warm up. my old ford had an apc where i could set the rpm on anything i wanted and leave it there warming up. any way to do that on the dodge any ideas would be appreciated. thanks it never will warm up enough for heat just sitting at idle in the mornings. what i found at flying-j was a adjustable fast idle rod. dont remember what they are actually called but anyway it is a metal rod about 20 inches long and can be adjusted out to about 30 inches. what you do is place one end which had a hook device on it against the seat and place the opposite end against the accelerator. by adjusting the rod you can run the rpm up to where you want it. once you remove the rod it holds its adjusted length so the nest time you simply jam it between the seat and accelerator for the same rpm adjustment. simple to use. i set mine at about 1500 rpm not so much for heating the truck interior but to allow it to idle longer to warm the engine up without wash down. cost i think was about 5-6 bucks. sounds flimsy but it really works. jerry .
