1996 1500 ram trans question

Q: i have a 1996 318 ram with 80000 miles and just recently reverse has been acting up sometimes it will go into reverse other times just sits there unless i give it slight gas. just replaced fliud and filter about week ago and it is still off and on. any ideas or things i can look for. gut feeling is value body or pump .
