1990 Ram Charger Trans w/ OD.......Are these trans junk or not?

Q: im trying to find out if its a common thing for these type of trans to have a reputation of burning up before their time . from what i am being told if you get 60 k out of these trans your lucky. not saying that they dont last longer than 60 k mine lasted 114 k but whats the story on these trans i was told that 1990 was the last year they used this trannie. anybody know the name of this trans and/or the years they were made .
