17,000 + New Headers this am.... ??

Q: either you guys/gals have been typing your asses off or somebody opened a flood gate. i did a group refresh to get new message headers this am and it dumped me down over 17000 new posts. most of them are res to threads that no longer exist. anybody else experience this anybody know why it would happen so many garys ..so.. clyde .
