12V Air conditioner compressor

Q: i have a 63 studebaker avanti with the supercharged engine and want to add air conditioning to it. unfortunately the supercharger is located where the ac unit goes in the unsupercharged model. someone told me that they had heard that chrysler used a 12v ac compressor in one of the front wheel drive models because of the lack of room in the engine bay. has any one heard or know about this application. hope redneck doesnt call me an idiot again after my first question a while ago about wheel spacers for my ram 3500 van conversion. btw bought a pair fred@wheeladapter.com. in steel and a real nice job. i needed the 2 inch thick 8 bold 5/8 stud and no problem. cost me $320 us including shipping to canada. cheers jim -- .

i am looking at used 2002 - 2003 ram 1500 quad cabs to purchase. i have really been impressed at these trucks. hope to get a deal done in the next week or so. are there any issues with these vehicles thanks claud .
