is that a 9007 bulb & where is good place to buy $ dick dick yup its a 9007 and i believe it goes by the designation 9007st. they are available at wal-mart... at least here in mo. mike is the difference all that noticable roy .

i guess you also missed the part where the $350 ones hook up electrically also nah i saw that but it depends on what you get. camping world ones extend and retract electrically. expensive but i have never seen much out for less that was built as well. if he wants cheap he can get clamp on extenders for use when towing. they work well but are a pain. he could also get the ones that attach to the sides of the fenders g ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .

mike simmons wrote i upgraded to the gte/osram silverstars which i am pleased with. they have a higher color temp and are substantially whiter than the stock bulb. there is no increase in wattage which keeps your wiring/connectors safe. i once bought a set of piaa super bright for my truck. paid about $70 for them. after i installed them i thought they were great and much brighter than the oems. drove around with them for about a year or longer then moved to the country and discovered i couldnt see a damn thing along side the highway or very far ahead. what the piaas did was change the color spectrum and appear to be brighter and along with the street lights in town they had me fooled. ive put the oems back in and though they are a yellow light i actually see more of the road especially along the side. personally and it is just my opinion but anything that claims to be brighter but at the same wattage as the oem lights is just hype. i know the sport lights for our trucks are superior but there simply isnt much than can be done with a light that uses the 9004 bulb which is the oem for my truck. i dont know when they switched to the 9007 bulbs that some of you guys have in your trucks and they may be a better bulb but the 9004s suck. jerry .

hi redneck i think they have to be 5 on 51/2 i will check/ hello all i am looking for a set of mags or factory wheels to fit my 1987 dodge truck 150 15 inch wheels.i live in golden b.c canada. so the closer the better.let me know what you have. i have a set of 5 chrysler/dodge road wheels from the middle 70s they have the 5 by 4 1/2 bolt pattern. i have no idea what the bolt pattern is on a 1987. possibly 5 by 5 i live south of tacoma wa ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .

ive driven alot of different vehicles in almost every province in canada.with the exception of nwt. with all kinds of different tires on them from snow tires to almost bald all season radials etc etcand every combination will act just a bit differently on snow and ice.ive driven too in everything from a light dusting to 3 ft of snow plowing it with my front bumper dont matterontario winters can be just brutal point is if you drive yr round or 1 day in the snow the key thing when u are out there is that you will make it home with your family in 1 piece. so if a little bit of advice is going to help someone..then great. the original post asked about the limited slip in the dakota thats basically what i commented on plus the tires . i never really did care much for winter tires.thats also just my opinion. as far as im concerned a good all season tire is just fine. but to be honest some people out there just dont have a clue what they should do when it comes to driving what might be their first new truck in the winter. i guess thats why they come here to ask what other people do with their trucks. never any harm in asking. regards frosty it must be that growing up with snow for about 7 months of the year changes the perspective of driving in it. ive owned maybe 2 sets of snow tires in my life. had a 1969 gmc pickup with a 73 454 with 3 speed manual and a 1975 dodge pickup with a 440 & automatic. the dodge never had a snow tire on it. at the time going to college also had a 340 in my challenger with a 3000 stall convertor. drove it in the snow occasionally. in the 80s i owned an 1986 chrysler lebaron gts 2.2 turbo. it had the wide handling v rated tires on it. i was up in reno nv. it snowed about a foot overnight. i drove up to virginia city in the snow.. first car over the road never turned a tire going up the mountain growing up on the farm i can only remember my dad buying a couple sets of snow tires. hes 86 now still drives still doesnt have snow tires on his car still lives where snow is around about 7 months of the year. somehow it escapes me how posting a question on an internet group asking how to drive in snow is going to help very much i think you ought to go out and drive in it myself and find out what works and what doesnt take a big scoop shovel along and go out and get stuck a couple times ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .

silverstar headlights are mopar parts you can buy them from the dealership at a much higher markup then the 20 bucks a bulb price that you can find at autozones or pepboys here in cincinnatiohio the american tifoso silver stars are fine i had 9007ls installed long life and the sts are a major difference probably 50% brighter and higher color temp. do notice the lense does get a bit warmer to the tough. i have those pencil bulbs in one of my other vehicles fordand they are substantially better then the older style 9000s series. fyi jr on sat 15 nov 2003 084121 gmt camille camille@alaska.net wrote anyone have a recommendation for a good headlight bulb upgrade these stock headlights just arent doing it for me... dale not camille .
