Q: tbone wrote because i dont care about the dirt that didnt get through. i look at the dirt that did. you cant really have one without the other. what hurts an engine dirt that got through or dirt that didnt possibly some of the dirt that gets thru but that is completely dependent on the amount and type of dirt the filter comes in contact with. forget about this 3 vs 2 thing for just a minute tbone. lets take a car with an oem filter through some dusty driving conditions. lets also take a car through the same area at the same time with a k&n filter. now lets do an oil test on both. the car with the k&n will have 50% more. the 3 vs. 2 thing you are hung up on means nothing. that is not always true but even if we say that it is what matters is if it is enough to actually damage the engine and with the extreme efficiency of the paper filter i doubt that either would allow enough if maintained regularly. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

you have an internet handle of boss man and wonder if i have an inferiority complex hmmm rethink your stupidity. i dont need to find a woman. perhaps you do with a handle like boss man and an e-mail of dicksucker. ive been happily married for over thirteen years to a great woman. no need for my hand. im sure yours is wore out by now. this ng has become a group of warranty kings and queens looking for free advice or those not wanting to pay for work performed. any doubt of this can be cleared by reading posts. this is why i select those in true need and e-mail them my response in the hope that it helps. what have you done for them brent .

us wrote ive got the 03 with hemi and auto havent noticed the noise. i also pull a 28 trailer and havent noticed it unlocking and locking i assume you mean some sort of hunting type feeling unless i forget to lock out the od. snipped sorry i forgot to thank you for your response. one quick note on the unlocking. it only does it with od locked out. if i leave it in od the transmission will shift from 5th lockup to 3rd unlocked on a grade. this is with cruise on and engaged. hd in ny .

this goes along with what i have been saying for years we either conserve it now or pay big for what is left of it later. i recently came across http//www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net/ id say its too believable to be true... but would love to hear any arguments against the theory... well the author of the website says conservation wont matter... any advances in conservation & efficiency will cause us to consume more and total oil usage will continue to rise. it also states that hybrid cars production is very oil- and energy- intensive and in fact offsets any savings made in decreased fuel consumption. that is because this author is to put it simply full of shit. how does it really take any more oil to produce a hybrid vehicle than a standard one and over the life of the vehicle it will use less petroleum products than a conventional one. as for conservation how could it have no effect if you use less it lasts longer and there is no magic about that. he is trying to mix conservation with efficiency and they are two very different things. what really bothers me is that theres simply no way our energy needs can be satisfied without oil... unless there is a breakthrough in nuclear fusion or something like that. actually the real answer is that there is no simple way to satisfy our energy needs without oil not that there is no way but lets get something clear there is a big difference between our actual needs and what we actually use and waste.. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

these hybrids are rather costly so no real savings from the better mpg. lol you really need to start thinking long term miles. while i agree that they will save little to no money now the demand will push for the further development of the vehicles to where they both get getter mileage and cost less. i recently came across http//www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net/ id say its too believable to be true... but would love to hear any arguments against the theory... peter .

tbone wrote then in your area a k&n would be a bad choice. yep. because it allows too much dirt through. 50 % more than an oem bfg .

rw wrote hd in ny wrote has anyone had a problem with the automatic used with the hemi engine by that i mean a failure of any sort. mine has a sound i can best describe as sounding like a valve opening and closing rapidly. happens when the transmission is close to a downshift but not quite ready to do so. ive been assured by the service department its common and not a cause for worry. it happens in 3rd 4th and 5th. hd in ny judging by the lack of responses i guess no one has had any failures. has anyone else experienced the same noise from this transmission then hd in ny ive got an 04 hemi automatic and i havent heard any tranny noises. sorry i couldnt be more help. ron w. thanks. im told that the 03 transmission does this but doesnt cause any harm. since i questioned the service department about the noise maybe im covered. i also tow a 30 trailer with it and it does it either towing or solo.it also unlocks and locks several times while towing and going up a slight grade like overpasses. this with the od locked out. this also is normal as per the chryco service manager. hd in ny .
