Q: on sun 26 dec 2004 transurgeon wrote in this case it will be really hard to do since the voltage regulator is integrated in the pcm or as we called em back then sbec. on an 87 nope no sbec in 87. the first year for the sbec was 90 and the first year all mopars got sbecs was 91. an 87 would have a smec and yes the voltage regulator is located therein. the procedure for installing an external regulator to bypass a dead regulator subsystem in the logic module smec or sbec has been posted many times; do a google search on it. ds .

or you could have found this in the owners manual! yep - save for those who suffer from cellophanaphobia.... fear of breaking the wrapper on their owners manual. apparently its a more common disease than first suspected. .

montanajeeper@aol.com wrote you didnt pay attention to what i said jerry. i was referencing the .40 s&w in comparison to the .45 acp and showing that while it was ballistically superior on paper in the field it wasnt proving as reliable. sure i was but i understood your word it to represent the 45gap since that is what he subject is about. this is nothing but pure speculation. its a opinion which btw is what you are providing also. without data your comments are personal opinion with no facts.....right.... again you arent paying attention jerry. it doesnt matter how many manufacturers make the ammo its not readily available unless the local ammunition suppliers decide to stock it. if youre actually suggesting that .45 gap ammuntion is as readily available as 9mm. 38 special .357 magnum or .45 acp.....well that would be a foolish statement if thats what youre actually saying. there you go again off in left field. im not suggesting anything and again what the sam hell does 38 special 357 mag 9mm have to do here anyway. were talking about a new round that is proving to give the 45acp a run for its money and may very well replace it in the future. of course dealers have to stock the item and in my area many of the dealers have it on their shelves. now i know walmart isnt carrying it yet and the local dealers have a lot more of the other calibers on the shelves but to say it is not readable available is bs. damn who the hell said the ammo was as available in gap as the acp trying to make mountains from mole hills isnt going to prove your point. so far you have offered a lot of personal opinion but not one single cite to show the 45acp superior to the 45gap though you wasted no time jumping up with the statement to actually suggest that it could be a contender for the .45acp is nothing short of biased dreaming and bullshit. whether you admit it or not you are simply biased towards the 45acp. most likely because you have already plucked down you money for one. personally i dont care if the 45gap succeeds or not as i have no need for it or the 45acp but neither am i going to argue with facts which prove your opinion absolutely wrong on all accounts. you simply arent going to prove anything arguing with facts................ jerry .

glad to hear youre up and running again bill. like mike said none of the pickup truck manufacturers have a drain in their tanks probably some damn epa regulation that prevents it. im curious - did your water-in-fuel indicator on the dash ever light up on my truck i run a product called a fuel air separator system or fass. its an auxillary fuel pump with integrated filter/water separator that mounts on the frame rail next to the gas tank. i have my stock lift pump removed and have the fass feeding fuel into the stock filter/canister. if i ever had a problem with fuel like you did i could easily remove the fuel filter from the fass its a spin-on filter and within minutes empty the contents of the tank into a container. .

on sun 26 dec 2004 232355 gmt edward l. dowdy eddowdy@ctsihatespamcomp.com wrote this is my first 4x4 in 20 years. had it in 4 hi today on dry pavement. with the wheel cut hard to the right the truck was hopping. i think this is probably normal. id like to know for sure from some of the resident experts. with all the snow around here ive had in 4 hi more often than not. ed dowdy there is no center differential on your truck to compensate for the different distance front vs. rear wheels need to travel on a turn. so one of the wheels has to slip on a turn. on dry pavement this places a lot of strain on the drive train hence your manual tells you not to use 4wd on dry pavement. on snow or gravel a wheel can slip without putting strain on the drive train. keep it in 2wd until the conditions warrant 4wd. if you want 4wd all the time you will have to get an awd vehicle with a center differential. woody; 95fxds .

william boyd wrote roy wrote tom lawrence wrote cavity when i take the filter back out. what do you think about having to bleed the lines leading to the injectors. i always had to do that on an old ford 2600 tractor i had no the 03 and up engines use electrically-actuated injectors as opposed to hydraulically-actuated in the older models and your ford tractor. air in the lines isnt a problem - it will just blow out the injectors when they open up. this is what makes the new engines self-bleeding. changing the filter. i might be near my wits end but it wont do any good to give up. once you can get the lift pump putting fuel into the filter canister you should be home free. well its 25 deg. on the upward direction @ 0800 going for the upper 40s my normal body redline is 50 deg but this is an ewo emergency way operation condition so ill brave it as it passes lets say 35 deg. i have slept on it and decided to be a little more optimistic about it and not disconnect the feed line again. but go directly to the filter and remove it see if the lift pump will draw fuel with a little air pressure in the tank. with the experience that i have had in the past with liquid pumps they are not good at pumping air and will work much more efficient with liquid. so i think the name of the game is to get liquid to the pump in what ever manner i can. what do you think just my .02. running that lift pump dry is apt to trash it. any way you can get heat to the lines like a flood light bulb under the tank hair dryer to the lines the heated fuel i doubt will work it has to radiate too far but at this stage anything i suppose will help. roy thanks roy. i hope we can call it success with a great deal of lost confidence in the cumins engine setup in the ram. i was well aware of problems with running out of fuel that is the reason i kept my eye in the gage and computer. the system should have a sumped tank with drain capability as it is what goes in has gotta go through the filter. a horses ass arrangement if i ever seen one. i have had several diesel tractors still have a jd5410 and all had tank drain capability. hope this is the only thing i find that i do not like with the dodge. hell i was raised in west texas and back then if you didnt have a dodge pickup you wasnt a cowboy. my latest corrective actions included removing the filter and filling the cavity with fuel then bumping the lift pump two times. noting that the filter heater worked while the lift pump was running. thought i was going to have problems there as it put out a little smoke from around the top of the filter cavity. never the less after that i slowly lowered the filter in to the cavity that was full of fuel secured it and bumped two more times. the engine caught and ran for a short while then stalled out. i obtained a glass bottle and drained the filter noting a large amount of water. so i added 5 more gallons of the red fuel the remainder of the bottle of heat fuel dryer and repeated the previous procedure. this time the engine caught and kept on running so i pulled it up to the fuel tank and added to about a half of a tank of the red fuel. i drove down to the station that i usually buy fuel at and filled it up this was not the bp station that i obtained what i believe to be water contaminated fuel that started this mess. i also went to three shell stations including one that was a real truck stop and all of them were out of shells fuel additive that prevents gelling. i thought next best thing was to buy an alternative from a reputable parts store. i bought power service brand one quart treats 100 gallons of fuel named diesel fuel supplement + cetane boost. gotta be good its made in texas weatherford. any body ever heard of this brand i want to thank all that helped me out with this im to old to be doing this kinda shit any way. new tricks come harder as time goes by. damned and i usta be an airplane mechanic but couldnt have done it with out your help most specifically tom cheers have a happy new year hoppy gald youre running again! no manufacturer that im aware of has a drain on the fuel tank so your anger should not be directed only at dodge ^. powers is a good dfa and will help get rid of any residual moisture. i would drain the fuel filter a time or two though to prevent this problem from happening again. best to you and dog! mike -- bill p. 2004 2500 slt quad cab dodge ram swb 2wd 5.9 ho turbo diesel 48re auto trans anti-spin dif. rhino liner husky 16k. voyager controller 2005 27rl wildcat dt/pc wi-fi. just me and dog .

many people bring the wire in thru the third eye brake light. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving ive picked up an xm satellite receiver for the truck and am wondering if anyone has come up with a good way of mounting the antenna on the roof. im not so much concerned about the antenna seeing as how it has a strong magnetic base but i would like to somehow hide the wire. as it is now the wire basically drapes on the roof and is tucked alongside the windshield ran down the side of the door frame and into the cab. drilling a hole in the roof is an option i guess but there has to be a better way. i thought of a small bead of white silicon the truck is white to hold the wire in place or maybe i could find some very strong weather resistant tape to secure the wire but would like to hear what others have done with similar situations. thanks david... .
