how about having a small sticker made that says warning this vehicle equipped with a hidden gps tracking device. i agree a thief may end up doing damage only to find out he cant get your vehicle. then you have to fix it...which in the grand scheme of things fixing is better than replacing. but my philosophy is that if someone is going to steal a car.....id rather it be someone elses. -- laszlo almasi carolina watercraft works inc. in the battle between money and love money will always triumph i may have to change my signature......on second thought i was right the first time. on mon 24 oct 2005 013216 gmt nirodac nirodac@hotmail.com wrote like anyones going to steal a dodge. beekeep true but in our area it proves to be basic transportation to the next drug fix. these thieves just steal the easiest vehicle available. they dont carry tools to defeat the club. then you are probably better off leaving the key in the ignition and installing a secret switch under the dash in they yellow wire that leads to the starter. that way they wont distroy a $100.00 switch assembly when trying to steal it. beekeep .

luckily the constitution protects you. even the dot is not above the constitution. they can not seize and search your property regardless of where it is. unless of course they have probable cause like someone asking .....can i use regular home heating oil in my diesel aside from the obvioul tax issues is there really any reason i cant get away with this..... on a public group. but then what are chances they might just happen to read it it isnt like they would use google to do a search of key words tax cheats might use. actually they can just pull over any commercial registered vehicle for a safety inspection when they want. those inspections are part of their job. if your caught with illegal fuel they can seize the vehicle. it is a criminal violation of the law. ask al capone about what tax evasioncan get you. ----== posted via feeds.com - unlimited-uncensored-secure usenet ==---- http//www.feeds.com the #1 group service in the world! 120000+ groups ----= east and west-coast server farms - total privacy via encryption =---- .

coasty wrote what about the pcm isnt the one for an automatic different form the one used in the manual when making an auto to manual conversion on a gm car i always wired the shift indicator wiring to neutral. the ecm was happy and it drove just fine. that was obd1 though. this will be my first obd2 conversion. if the auto has an electonic valve body then this could get interesting. -rev .

to big al yes i read the article and if it were anymore vague it could be used as a soap-opera script. more hype about himself that about the carb and not enough about himself to determine if hes even a logical shadetree inventor. i printed out the pop mech article. the water injection they used works off manifold vacuum which drops as the throttle opened reducing vapor flow. a 5-10% improvement is about the maximum improvement and is about all you could expect * at best* . the system i used on the slant six drew vacuum off the distributor vacuum advance port vacuum increases with throttle opening delivering more vapor at higher rpm used an aquarium air stone 50/50 water alcohol mix and a heavily recurved distributor. full mechanical advance just above idle and full vacuum @ 4 inches of mercury iirc. budd on sun 16 oct 2005 164741 -0700 big al nospamsal1@qwest.net wrote a computerized overly complicated overly expensive way of injecting water into the intake flow. i see no verifcation of his 70 mpg claim nor any proof that he knows anything about combustion physics thermal dynamics fuel manufacture . . .no evidence hes anything but a charlatain. how does water injection help it allows a much leaner mixture by moderating the combustion process and preventing lean mixture detonation problems. it was commonly used in ww ii on many of our fighters to give higher power outputs under combat conditions. the moisture also flashes into low pressure steam to add to the power output. in 1970 mother earth magazine ran an article on how to build your own water injection system with an aquarium air stone a mayonaise jar and some vacuum line. add water and rubbing alcohol. on a 225 slant six in a 1964 valiant i got 41.25 mpg on a 145 mile round trip between canon city co and colorado springs co. the engine was running tighter than stock valve lashes mechanical lifters and a recurved distributor. otoh my eldest is now driving my old 1979 d150 318auto 3.55 axle long bed and getting 19 mpg around town and 23 highway but the vacuum advance has been seriously recurved. it also kicks 350 chubbie butt regularly. now what all this points out is there is no miracle carburetor only careful tuneups and modifictions combined with sensible driving habits aggressive driving is a no-no for fuel economy folks will achieve a net increase in economy. budd budd i see no proof that you read the article. did you read it not that i know anything about it but its not water injection like they used in ww2 when we were kids. can you prove the 318 kicks 350 chubbie butt i went to the 50th anniversary of the first nuke in a friends 350 powered 1/2 ton short bed with a aluminum shell. we got just over 25 mpg for the complete trip. i think it was throttle body injected but did not look. it was dead stock automatic trans and the paint was blowing off the hood just like both of my white dodges al al im not known for lying. i resent your insinuation that i am. the bad part is i tried to help you with your rat infestation. therefore i will not waste the effort in the future as you will just consider im lying. and i wasnt born until 47. budd budd didnt want to upset you sorry i did. noticed you didnt answer the question. did you read the article al still has a rat problem .

john wrote tires too small would increase your acceleration. let me rephrase that. initial acceleration is peppy but it seems like it immediately wants to shift up unless you really stay in the throttle. almost like it shifts up too soon. ive been driving a f150 with a 4.2l v6 for the last two years so it could be that im just not attuned to the shift points yet. oem tires are 245/75-16. that is what is on it. remington wide brutes. thanks for the rest of the advice snipped that is what i was looking for. matt .

i expected a little more balls from you people. good lord! sell it and get what you want. huge project not likely. every part needed is available in some form or another. no fabrication necessary. with a donor truck available i could have it done in a day. if you really believe this then you are only fooling yourself. thanks for the info on the 1500 ram. it sounds like dodge never offered anything smaller than the nv4500 with the 360. i might have to brave the nv3500 or look into something from another manufacturer which will greatly increase the complexity of the project. no problem and good luck. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

--snip-- there was no 5 speed offered with the 1500 series and the 5.9. the 2500 used the nv4500. with chrysler products one never knows. we have a 92 d150 at work with the magnum v6 and a nv4500. was under the truck looking for a leak that turned out to be a rear freeze plug and i looked at the transmission expecting to see a nv3500. the next day i took my 92 w250 360 v8 in and parked next to it and looked them over. same transmission except mine is the 4 wheel drive version. the nv3500 is a lot smaller than the nv4500 the difference is obvious. what id like to know is how does this stuff happen something i would expect in an old international truck but not in a dodge. a friend of mine bought a 99 b350 van about six months ago for his sons band. it has the small rear axle with out floating hubs. like you would see in a 250 van. i thought all 350s had the big rear axle with floating hubs al .

this thread reminds me of the stupid anti-theft device on my 01. chip that is insertied under the dash. pretty much just serves as a second key that has to be used in conjunction with the main one. on a long trip i pulled over for a nap and kicked it loose. took a while till i realized what was wrong. on top of that irritation the salesman tried to charge me an additial 2 or 3 hundered dollars for i when i bought the truckt. i said take it out! he did not charge me for it but i never got back to the shop to have it disabled. anyone know how john .

i just this morning bought a 2001 ram 1500 v8 4wd and sport package. mileage was 54k. sticker was $10k. minus $2000 for my trade-in my on-its-last-breath 97 ford f150. i was expecting to have the f150 hauled off as it was knocking like a woodpecker. so it is going to cost me about $8000 - is that fair enough what kind of maintenance issues should i be expecting at its age and mileage the acceleration isnt quite what i expected - it almost feels like it is geared too low. tires too small anyone know what size tires came with it new i havent had time to check which v8 it came with. yes it has been one of those days. probably the 5.9l. -=matt=- .
