Q: nobulltrans@mchsi.com writes not in modern systems the voltage regulator has a sense lead that is connected directly to the battery terminal electrically if you install diode isolators the regulator will raise the alternator output intil it senses normal voltage across the batteries well now see i just learned something. thanks for the insight. i still wouldnt suggest parallelling batteries tho unless you plan on spending the dollars to do it correctly. theres a lot more to it than just hooking the two together. .

no that was horsehockey like his answer. i dont give a damn if its hockey or pucky. anyone who has owned a car with enough power to spin the tires and has no anti spin/posi knows the right tire always lays the rubber. again bullshit. several of us have explained why. crawl back under your rock of security and untruths and live with it. max anvils dont kill cartoon characters cartoon characters kill cartoon characters. .

for some installations the second battery is isolated in order to split the load between the batteries. the engine computer and the starter are on one battery and the rest of the car is on the other. this way if you leave your headlights on. or listen to the stereo with the bass to high you still have a full second battery to start the car with. this is why ford isolated the batteries in their camper special. as for dodge and their diesels with the dual batteries. if there was enough room under the hood for one huge battery they might do it. they just need cranking power not run time. as for big rigs their starter motor pulls about 75500watts or about 6200 amps. 100 hp for that they need current. not run time. i have no idea where i am going with this so i am going to just shut up now. how do dodge etc. get away with connecting all their standard equipment dual batteries together with nothing but big fat cables whats the big bugaboo about parallel lead-acid batteries anyway each 12-volt battery is six 2.1-volt cells connected in series. the parallel connection creates multiple sets of serially connected cells. if a cell shorts opens sulphates or anything else nothing catastrophic happens regardless of the number of individual batteries in parallel. the battery with the defect simply loses some or all of its capacity to store and discharge. there is no thermal runaway critical mass nuclear fission or anything like that. my real e-mail address is yofuri@oakharbor.net nobulltrans@mchsi.com writes not in modern systems the voltage regulator has a sense lead that is connected directly to the battery terminal electrically if you install diode isolators the regulator will raise the alternator output intil it senses normal voltage across the batteries well now see i just learned something. thanks for the insight. i still wouldnt suggest parallelling batteries tho unless you plan on spending the dollars to do it correctly. theres a lot more to it than just hooking the two together. -----= posted via feeds.com uncensored usenet =----- http//www.feeds.com - the #1 group service in the world! -----== over 100000 groups - 19 different servers! =----- .

roy wrote it always comes down to the driver so yes we agree on that. but that doesnt change the fact that a fwd is easier to control and operate in the snow. like i said earlier it is good for one to know ones limitations. one other thought and this is a jump ball. do you think that those off us that feel that rwd is the way to go that it might be because we learned to drive and became experienced on rwd. while those who favor the fwd have limited or no experience driving a rwd. yup it is a age thingg i dont think so. at least i wont fit that argument since im old and learned to drive on rwd when there wasnt much around with fwd. speaking of driver skill i remember very well many years ago a fellow in a rwd sedan stuck in snow. several of us were attempting to help the guy get unstuck. we all kept telling him what to do or what not to do and the fellow became frustrated saying well why dont you give it a try! dont know the fellow who obliged but he hopped in the car and with the gentlest of acceleration a little forward a little back calmly and with no additional effort from the rest of us easily drove the car out of the snow! very impressive. i did the same thing this very winter for a woman with an old 4wd toyota 4runner. just lightly moving forward and backward with little acceleration right out of a snow bank. her tires were very worn and she simply didnt have the touch! skill and tires make a world of difference. smh .

this is what they mean in texas when they say the bull serviced the cow. -- my real e-mail address is yofuri@oakharbor.net brought my 99 durango in because it was idling rough and the check engine light was on. dealer found fault code for multiple misfires. he suggested diagnostic 82. new plugs 106. cap wires rotor 189. throttle body/injector service 198. engine decarb service 99. serp belt tensioner 249. front brake pads and rotors 397. rear brake adj. and clean 89. transfer case input seal 345. front diff service 128. rear diff service 138. transfer case service 50. total 2070.00 well that aint in the budget right now. i picked it up and paid the 82. for the diagnostic. went to the parts store for cap rotor and wires 70 bucks and replaced those this afternoon. it runs fine now. i know the brakes will need attention soon and im probably overdue for differential service. the throttle body injector decarb stuff seemed questionable and the rest of the stuff may have been a good idea but seemed overpriced. whaddya think -----= posted via feeds.com uncensored usenet =----- http//www.feeds.com - the #1 group service in the world! -----== over 100000 groups - 19 different servers! =----- .
