ive had two edelbrocks that ive bought new. the first one was also on a 79 360. after putting it on and starting it up i was tempted to fiddle with the mix screws a little but i never did. it ran perfect for about four years till i sold it. the other one went on a 75 chev 350. that one i had to tweek the choke a tad to come off sooner. other than that they were perfect out of the box. both of these were bought in the mid-90s so i dont know if the quality has changed since then. denny ive got a 79 dodge with a 360 and it needs a new carb. its already got an aftermarket intake on it. i was looking at the edelbrock 600cfm and the carter 600cfm. manual choke. for the $35 difference is the carter set up any different than the edelbrock i know theyre the same company but is one more performance based than the other if not im leaning toward the carter. thanks mike .

question..... did you buy the qrts from the same guy you bought the gallons from if you dont trust what the authority on the product sells than by all means put dexron/mercon in it or better yet type f. that will make the clutches grab real good. ;- um the authority on the product has a monopoly on it and therefore has a vested interest in selling it. a lot of money. this is how atf +3 worked out. with atf +4 chrysler got greedy and decided to use atf+4 as a leverage to get people to come into dealership service departments and to make money off fluid sales. of course an automaker is not setup to distribute fluids and can only do so very inefficiently which is why they sell the stuff for the $5 a bottle or whatever rediculous price it is now. on tuesday i called around and discovered that both our area chrysler dealerships unrelated ownership were selling atf+4 for the same price $7.20/qt. youch! still i felt i had no choice but to get it to be sure i was doing the best thing for my friends van. me to parts guy at dealership so whens chrysler gonna let somebody else sell this stuff parts guy hopefully never. so i picked up two gallons and did the flush. correct fluid level. so two days later yesterday i went back to the same dealer for the final two quarts and guess what - the price had dropped to $5.10/qt. doh!!! mike .

thats about what i get in my 03 qc4x4. from talking to several people i think thats pretty much as good as it gets. copper i have a 2003 dodge 1500 quad cab regular bed 2 wheel drive with the hemi. the sticker said 14mpg city 19 highway. i do mixed driving mostly city. i average about 13mpg below the stated city mpg. even on the highway i get about 16mpg at 65mph give or take. is this on par with what others are getting .

will the existing front housing accept the differential from a 8 3/4 i believe the current differential is a dana 44 of course not but there is a good variety of limited slip and locker parts available for the dana so why not just use it because i established two criteria early on...the finished project had to accept the torque that im going to apply to it and i wanted to do it with parts i had on hand. the 440ci im putting into the truck will have 535.5 hp @ 5300 rpm and 582.9ft @ 4100 rpm these are projected not measured specs. i dont believe that the dana 44 will be strong enough to take that kind of power. since the 8 3/4 is arguably the strongest differential that mopar used and i already have 2 that matched...i was looking for a way that would allow me to use them. thanks for your response bill ...and on the other hand you have 5 fingers... .

cooper please! obviously you replaced based on price. i replaced my rts with cooper discoverer. immediate improvement in ride quality and they look great too. j. time 55k to replace the stock goodyear wrangler rt/s 31x10.5 r15 lt that came on it. any suggestions for all-weather good-handling smooth riding tires i dont do off-road so i dont need anything more than light truck tires. anyone have experience with bridgestone dueler a/t revos thanks. regards plmerite .

bill hall wrote ron m. wrote feel free to ask me any other questions. ron m. no pics really needed your comments have been great. since you have that cushy auto transmission you probably cant answer the backlash question. with a manual creeping across broken pavement or speed bumps in the lower gears can really start a truck bucking and lurching sometimes. if the powertrax adds to the driveline windup it might not be a good tradeoff for me. im glad to hear my truck isnt the only one that does this. idling over the speed bumps can get some clunking and jerking going. i have started to take it out of gear when going slow over the bumps. i have an 03 1500 4x4 with manual and was beginning to wonder what the f#&$ i was doing wrong. my old 75 f250 with manual didnt seem to be nearly as bad but it was only a 2 wheel drive. we drive too slow thats what were doing wrong. .
